Her focus is on copyright, trade mark and design law, media law, unlawful press publications, reputation protection, regulation and liability of online platforms. She has particular experience in issues concerning the responsibilities of online platforms and the freedom of expression and reputational risk of public individuals and companies. She regularly assists various retail companies, producers, creators and the Dutch anti-piracy organisation BREIN.<\/p>\n<p>Patty studied at the University of Amsterdam (IvIR), where, after an honours bachelor&#8217;s degree in law (which she completed cum laude), she obtained a master&#8217;s degree in information law and a master&#8217;s degree in private law practice. During her studies, Patty broadened her knowledge of intellectual property law at Columbia Law School in New York. She also completed internships at several (international) law firms.<\/p>\n<p>Patty is a member of the Benelux Association for Trademark and Design Law (BMM), the International Trademark Association (INTA), the European Communities Trademark Association (ECTA) and several Dutch Associations. Patty has several publications to her name and regularly lectures in the field of intellectual property and media law.<\/p>\n<p>In Legal500, Patty has been listed as a &#8220;Rising Star&#8221; for several years and also as a &#8220;Next Generation Partner&#8221; since 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Some recommendations for Patty:<br \/>\nMedia Law International included &#8220;<em>Patty de Leeuwe joined the partnership in 2022 and has a strong practice in IP enforcement and media<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Patty has registered &#8220;Intellectual property law&#8221; as her main area of law in the register of areas of law of the Dutch Bar Association. (&#8216;juice channel&#8217;) on behalf of a Dutch celebrity in which she was wrongly accused and her musical work made public without permission.<\/li>\n<li>Procedure on blocking obviously illegal BitTorrent websites.<\/li>\n<li>Various proceedings on issuing name and address details of individuals or companies infringing copyright or related rights.<\/li>\n<li>Various proceedings for TV producers, broadcasters and publishers on the legality of TV broadcasts and press publications which included portrait rights, use of hidden cameras and broadcast\/publication bans.<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing advice to a well-known German car manufacturer on trade mark infringement by Dutch (unauthorised) dealers.<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing consultancy on product design and advertising to a large supermarket
